Introducing Ni Carnahan Button Girl Series! I would like to formally introducing Ni’s Button Girl Series to you guys! As you all know that I love real buttons, and just blog about how I start my button illustration from last post. Today, I want to share my very first button girl illustration titled “Identical” to you. I was attending Illustration Friday weekly topic back in 2012. The very first topic that I did was “Identical”,and this was what I had come up with. At time I was designing Ni’s signature Girl. Also, I just happened to purchase 4 bottle of colorful buttons at local craft store. So, I decided to combine my little girl with those buttons for that topic.
The first image is the final work of Identical. The second image is my black and white ink process for this button illustration. I love black and white ink drawing as you all know,so the second image is my favorite over the final work to be honest with you. Yes, I would just leave it as black and white if I could personally. Well, I was thinking about simple concept and right on the topic when I created this illustration. So, I kept it simple and enhanced it with real buttons after inking and coloring processes.
Anyway,I have started to tryout more with real buttons ever since this first button girl illustrations. Eventually, I decided to feature Button Illustration and have been developing “Button Girl” Series over the past year and half. I am still exploring this technique, and having so much fun with it. I am going to share more Ni Carnahan Button Illustrations and Button Girls Series with you all along the way. So, come and join me with my Button Illustrations! Happy creating! ^_______^
